Which one is better? Which one will guarantee permanent hair removal?
What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?
I have had both and laser hair removal was way better than electrolysis. Electrolysis felt like their was a woodpecker sitting on my forehead pecking between my eyes. Electrolysis takes longer, is more painful and has a higher risk of scarring, especially if it is a bad practitioner. Laser Hair Removal is faster and somewhat painful. After LHR I am 5 years out with no regrowth. As other have said, there is not guarantee to be hairless forever because hormonal changes can cause dormant follicles to start growing hair again. There are providers out there, however, that offer 2 year guarantees that begin after your last treatment.
The difference between the two is that electrolysis is done by running electrical current down a probe that is inserted down to your follicle. The electrical current then destroys the follicle by shutting off the blood supply to the follicle. With electrolysis you can only treat one hair at a time and you have to see the hair to treat it.
For LHR, light heats up the hair shaft and the follicle because the light is attracted to the melanin in your hair and the mellanin in the blood supply located at the follicle. The corresponding heat then destroys the follicle by once again shutting off the blood supply to the follicle. For LHR, you treat an area the size of a quarter with each light pulse. In addition, all active follicles are treated which means that follicles whose hair shafts are not beyond the surface of the skin are still treated.
LHR was definitely a great choice for me.
What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?
Neither one if you were blessed with hair keep it
What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?
Electrolysis is a lot more time consuming; it "shocks" each hair root out one by one. Laser hair removal is much less painful and although you may have to go back a series of times, it is more recommended since it's not only one hair at a time.
What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?
Neither will guarantee permanent hair removal, especially if your more dark-haired. Electrolysis is painful and long but will give you a better chance of your hair never coming back.
What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?
There is a HUGE difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal. Electrolysis is done with a *needle* probe that zaps or shocks the hair inside the follicle. Which means, the hair shaft is being penetrated. It's painful and extremely time consuming, and not cost effective, since only small areas can be worked on at a time. Laser is performed with laser light, which causes the hair in the follicle to die off. It's virtually painless, though there is some degree of sensation of temperature, but not pain. Electrolysis can take cares to achieve results, laser can take as few as three treatments to achieve result.
One more thing, there are no guarantee's in life. The human hair follicle produces a fair amount of hair in your lifetime. There is no guarantee that eventually, hair %26gt;could%26lt; grow back even after it's been lasered. It all depends on the genetic disposition of the skin and hair makeup.
Electrolysis.. ouch ... yikes... $$$ .. .boo!!! *thumbs down big time*
