How Long Until the Ultimate Hair Removal Solution is Invented?

How long do you think it will take before the ultimate form of hair removal is invented? By ultimate I mean one that costs less than 500$, is permanent, painless, and can be done by yourself? This is just a fun topic. Technology is quickly evolving, so I'm sure the above is possible, just will take some time.

In my opinion, I believe about 30-40 years since we've already gone from razors in the 50's to waxing and the dawn of laser hair removal.

How Long Until the Ultimate Hair Removal Solution is Invented?

Laser hair removal is generally accepted as the best form of permanent hair removal. Salon laser treatments are very expensive, but home laser hair removal kits like the Rio are available.

Laser treatments generally work best on fair skinned people with dark hair as the machine has to reliably target hairs and not your skin!

The Rio uses a safe 808nm diverging diode laser system. It can only treat 1 hair at a time whereas a salon laser machine can treat an area of about 1cm squared.

The Rio is made in the U.K and costs the equivalent of $175. Furthermore, the manufacturer is rumoured to be releasing a laser hair remover that can target multiple hairs simultaneously sometime during 2007.
