Laser 'shaving'????

I don't know whether it is said 'shaving' or waxing, yet anyway I would like to know if permanent hair removal by using a laser is in any way harmful or increases the risks of any disease? I too would like to know why in the 2 places I asked for prices, one was extremely more expensive than the other... Is there a better way? A safer way?

Laser 'shaving'????

It is very safe. The price may have been dramatically different because A. The quality of the equipment was very different or B. One of the locations had to pay a Dr. a substantial amount more for oversight. You can go to www.HairRemovalForum.com and they can give you pricing variances around the country or go to SignatureForum.com to see provider rankings.

Good Luck.

Laser 'shaving'????

I would recommend talking to your dr about the issue of the safety of laser is.

As for waxing some women have talked about having good results with Brazilian wax.

As for companies that charge higher prices part of that is because you are paying for the name just like will often occur with brand name clothing.

Laser 'shaving'????

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are 閳ユ笡ermanent閳?hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

How much do Electrologists Earn in the UAE?

Can someone in the UAE tell me how much electrologists earn in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. That is permanent hair removal with an electric needle.

Whart is the best anti allergy tablet for skin problems ??

Is coco powder good for health ?

Which laser is best for permanent hair removal ?

Whart is the best anti allergy tablet for skin problems ??

Not 100% sure but offhand I would say Benadryl.

Is shortwaves tweezer works ?

or electric tweezer for permanent hair removal .

Is shortwaves tweezer works ?

No. Nothing works except for electrolysis and to a lesser effect, laser.

The needle has to touch the root of the hair to kill it so electric tweezers is yet another scam. Visit http://www.hairfacts.com/methods/etweeze...

for more information on electric tweezers

At home electrolysis?

i was wondering if anyone had any experience with these machines and if they work if it take awhile thats ok as long as it is permanant does this on look like it would work?http://www.vitasprings.com/acra-permanen...

At home electrolysis?

I had one of those things, it sat in my drawer for years until I threw it out. I didn't try it much because it was laborious. Plus, if you don't do it right, you could hurt yourself. Leave electrolysis to the professionals. It's only 30 dollars for 30 minutes.

At home electrolysis?

i actually saw that and wanted to try that myself...but i figured it was a load of ****...LOL..im going to check to see if anyone answers....i know someone who said a girl they know used it for a long time and it actually worked...but who knows...i seriously doubt it.

like the girl above said...thats why i didnt try it...cos i was scared id get pot holes on my face...LOL hair is one thing...but scars is another...those you cant remove..

At home electrolysis?

I bought one and tried it a couple of times. I had trouble trying to get the needle directly into the hair follicle and also it hurt! It sat on the shelf for a while and then I threw it out, A waste of money.

Ladies.....?

My legs aren't hairy at all, haha [evil laughter] XD

Ladies.....?

Electrolyisis machines?

Has anyone used an at home permanent hair removal and if so did it work? What brand? I want to get the machine called "finally free ultra plus hair remover" but I dont want to waste money or anything. Can anyone help me with this please? Thank you

Electrolyisis machines?

I used one before....VERY time consuming and stings a little bit. It left a little scab in every hair pore, but it worked for the little patch that I did in 3 freakin hours!!!

Electrolyisis machines?

If you have normal to fine hair it works great, but if you have gorilla hair dont even bother with it.

Should any part of the vagina be grey?!?!?!?!!!!?

my vagina is turning kinda grey and bigger, i do masturbate and i'm getting intense light pulse permanent hair removal to remove the pubic hair down there but the session was on 8/1 and i just noticed the color....what's wrong with me?

Should any part of the vagina be grey?!?!?!?!!!!?

PLEASE stop using the word VAGINA when you mean VULVA.

Part of your VULVA is discolored ... OK ... this is a good reason to see a doctor.

Should any part of the vagina be grey?!?!?!?!!!!?

Please! I just ate.

Shaving...???

ok. so when i shave my legs...i find it pointless b/c the hairs grow back the next day...i've tried waxing and it takes to long. then i tried veet...and that is the same way as shaving. i'm too young to have permanent hair removal...what do i do???

Shaving...???

just shave it every day...if u want your legs to look nice, then that`s one of the few options available!!! i do it every day %26amp; it doesn`t take long, once u become accustomed...it`s just part of your daily beauty regimen...

Shaving...???

mine goes back the next day to, the more you shave the slower the hair grows in.

Shaving...???

Go au' natural. Nothing wrong with alittle hair....I dont see whats the big deal...like the people who get all disgusted. Im all 4 hippie chicks

Shaving...???

hair removal cream/gel or whatever its called. it lasts for a few days and only takes about 5 minutes: a couple of minutes to put it on, and leave it on for 3 m ins and then rinse off.

Shaving...???

either let you hair grow out and shave only when you need/want to. Or keep doing what you are doing and live with it.

Shaving...???

You've tried pretty much tried everything. Good Luck, when you find something let me know, I hate shaving too!!

Shaving...???

shave every day then less hair will grow back.

Shaving...???

im soo sorry i forgot what its called, but there is this lotion like stuff that your just rub on your skin and it slows hair growth, so i guess that would be a good option!!! =] =]

Shaving...???

well you shouldn't shave your legs EVERYDAY!! but you could just shave at night and then some in the morning for the days you show your legs. but its okay not to shave when you are wearing pants..... no one will know :)

Shaving...???

paste of poiling sugar i donno the real name but u can get it by boiling sugar with some water until it become as paste

use it to remove any hair anywhere on your body

Shaving...???

Hair removing cream. It will work.

Shaving...???

It cant grow back that thickly in a short space of time..

i think you should wax it every three days

and continue that

and eventually less hair will grow..

there is a lotion from johnson %26amp; johnson

*or is just johnsons?

Shaving...???

I go threading...?

i thread my upper lip hair instead of waxing and the next day i am completely red above the upper lip. is there a cream i can use to reduce the redness. i have decided not to go threading anymore and to just get it lasered off w/ permanent hair removal.

I go threading...?

A little hydrocortisone cream should help soothe the area. Good luck on your laser treatment! I have a lot of friends who've had legs and underarms done and they're THRILLED with the results!.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

I have hairy breast, hair on my stomach, hair on my back and butt. It's EXTREMELY visible, i have no money to get surgery. What are some long-term options I have for permanent hair removal, that are affordable. As u can guess this has thrown my self esteem out the window, how can I repair that as well.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

If you do decide you have to do something, then there isn't a simple answer.

Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of

1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many

2) your body producing high levels of testosterone

The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.

Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.

As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that

* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

sounds like you have too much testosterone in your body. Check with your doctor i'm sure there are hormone pills that they give you. Although i'm not possitive, can't hurt to ask.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

We all have testosterone... yes, even girls. It sounds like you have a little more. Ask your doctor about this.

And don't worry. I have a lot of peach-fuzz hair on my stomach too. It's annoying. So you're not the only one.

Permanent hair removal isn't really permanent. You have to go in and get it done several times to keep it up. And it's very expensive.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

I think you should see your doctor and have your hormone levels checked. It may be some type of chemical imbalance that can be easily fixed. As for removal there is waxing ,it lasts a couple of weeks and is semi affordable.Good Luck!

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

Nair or waxing can help... I have a little bit of hair on my lower back %26amp; in the summer I use Nair to get rid of it. It makes it really smooth %26amp; it lasts for a while! You can use that Nair on your breasts, stomach, back %26amp; butt. As for you face they have a Nair especially for that. But you might want to try waxing too. A little more painful but it gets rid of the hair! Usually any Salon or Spa can do this for you or you can get an "At Home" waxing kit %26amp; do it yourself. And dont worry there are tons of other girls that have this same problem so dont let a little hair get you down. Especially when there is a way to get rid of it. I hope this helps! Good Luck :)

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

wax them

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

Marry me!?!?

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

you need to take hormone pills... they will clear all that up. go see a doc to get the pills.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

type 'natural facial hair remover' on the search for questions

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

try 2 visit adouctor ....... u can use sugar 2 remove it

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

you can try laser hair removeral my demetologist recommende it and there's no surgery. DON'T SHAVE THE HAIR WILL JUST GROW BACK THICKER AND FASTED. Just use hair removeal cream mean while.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

USE THAT NEW STUFF CALLED NAIR IT REMOVES ALL HAIR

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

Either shave it, or get a cheap waxing product that is within 100.00.

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

shave it... and go see a doc. maybe the doc can give u somekind of medicine or surgery that u can afford..

Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

SHAVE IT !!!!!!!!!

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

My husband is a very hairy man. He has hair all over. Well the worst is on his back and his butt. Does anyone know any helpful ways to remove the hair without waxing, nair or permanent hair removal? Please no snide comments. Thank you in advance!

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

Waxing is the best way to go. Its recommended by everyone. And for the brazilian wax you should take advil or any pain reliever an hour before the waxing. that would help with the pain. The people who do it are really good and fast. THe first time you get it done it hurts a little, of course, but if you keep waxing you bascially get use to it. Usually they leave a little hair at the top but you can ask them to take that part as well and they go all the way to the back. Trust me you should give it a shot. afterwards you feel so clean and fresh. hope this helped!

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

i think waxing is your best bet...i dont think there is any other way to remove it....

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

just wax it

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

well there's laser? that's really expensive though, and probably he'll have to go more than once. and waxing your eyebrows i think hurts less than plucking them, because when you pluck them you are slowly pulling one hair out at a time, whereas when you wax them you get a whole bunch out at the same time and it's faster. you can also try and shave your husbands back?

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

Shaving - either with manual razor or electric.

Plucking - but that gets painful.

What's wrong with Nair? After you wash off, the smell goes away. It's painless and doesn't leave you susceptible to ingrown hairs. If you don't specifically like Nair, there are other depilitary products, like Veet.

There is another method of waxing called Sugar Waxing which is supposed to be less messy.

Or, you can just learn to love your hairy man just the way God made him.

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

ad you could buy a shaver (like the kind he shaves his mustache with) or you could use a regular razor

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

waxing is prob. the best choice.

plus won't it be fun listening to him yell while waxing his bottom!

haha :)

but about your eyebrows i find tweezing to hurt more than waxing them

it doesnt hurt at all!

Help! This is kind of a weird question......?

A friend of mine sugar waxes the backs/shoulders of both her husband and son. Be sure to exfoliate first.

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u hav

Folliculitis = infections of the hair follicules (basically after waxing or shaving, when your hair grows back, it sometimes gets infected and causes pimples with pus).

I have this problem, and doctors tell me that there is nothing I can do about it (except put a cream antibiotic "Fucidin H" on the pimples once they're already there).

It is a very annoying problem, because I don't know what to do about it. I'm thinking to try the Lazer for a permanent hair removal... which is basically my only alternative...

If anybody has any suggestion, or a cure for Folliculitis it would be great to hear it !!

:)

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u have a way to help me?

Folliculitis is a result of damage to the follicle which leads to infection. The boils/carbuncles you get are the signs of infection. Common causes of follicle damage (which may apply to you) are friction from tight clothing or shaving, excess perspiration, acne or dermatitis, and abrasions (scrapes).

Because folliculitis is a recurring conditon, prevention rather than cure is a reasonable strategy. While it's not always possible to prevent all infections all the time, you can greatly reduce the recurrence by avoid tight clothing, by shaving with care and using a new blade each time. Or use an electric razor or depilatory. It may not be possible to avoid excess persipration but keep your skin as clean and dry as you can. Try your best to avoid situations and locations where you may sweat excessively.

Continue to treat any existing carbuncles with the Fudicin. Wash your hands before and after using the cream. Wash the boils with mild soap and water before applying the cream.

As far as laser hair removal, do some research on the impact it has (if any) on folliculitis. I truly hope everything works out for you.

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u have a way to help me?

Don't wax your armpit, just shave it, and put some aloe vera cream to make it cool, just like men did after they shave

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u have a way to help me?

have you tried depilatory creams?

Still, permanent removal sounds like your best option.

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u have a way to help me?

I would do the laser treatment- You will never have to worry about any creams or shaving carefully- it will just be done and over with, and you wont have to be self concious or anything. good luck!

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u have a way to help me?

Exfoliate skin gently,so trapped, dead skin doesn't cause bumps.Apply Cortaid after exfoliating;the Cortaid will thin the skin to make it less likely that plugs will occur.Make sure that your razor is very sharp.Otherwise, the laser treatment will let you be hair free for a longer period of time, but maybe you should ask a dermatologist who does laser hair removal about what the growing back of hair will be like for someone with your problem.

I have "Folliculitis" (I get big pimples when I wax or shave my legs, underarms), if u have a way to help me?

BEFORE COMMITTING TO IT:

1. Find a reputable salon/clinic with properly trained staff (people with a background in nursing are the best)

2. Go for a consultation and get all the facts before you make a decision. They might do a free test for you on your arm so that you can experience the sensation (it ain't a walk in the park for some people - everyone's got a different pain threshold)

FAST FACTS:

* Laser hair removal typically requires multiple sessions (between 4 and 6 minimum) because hair grows in a cycles.

* You may be required to pay a high price PER session and then after the minimum number, you can either be put on a maintenance program (where you pay per zap) or go back to them for free treatments (pricing purely depends on the salon/clinic).

* It's fine for you to wax/shave inbetween sessions (people can't always make their appointments on exact days)

* The laser works best on dark hair on light skin

* For fine hair (like on your upper lip), the minimum number of sessions can be up to 10

* Skin on different parts of the body has different sensitivity levels (i.e. your eyelid skin is different to the skin on your back, right?). Having your underarms lasered might be almost painless while having your bikini lasered could leaving your skin burning for a while afterwards.

* Initially, you may experience little or no pain (depending on area treated), but be aware that the voltage may be increased with every session you go (this achieves better results).

* To help with the pain during the treatment, you can go to a pharmacy and get an anaesthetic cream (ask the clinic/salon to recommend a good one to you). This cream has to be applied a short time before the treatment.

THE PROCESS:

- You and the nurse/beautician will be required to wear special goggles during the procedure

- The nurse/beautician will spread a gel over the affected area.

- While using the laser, a jet blowing cold air will make the gel icy cold in order to help numb the pain once the nurse/beautician starts "firing away".

- Once treatment of the area is complete, the nurse will wipe away the gel and apply a soothing cream/lotion.

- Afterwards, you may be given a coldpack to put on the affected area to help numb any lingering pain you might experience.

BOTTOM LINE:

- The results are very much worth the pain.

- DON'T go for 1 or 2 sessions then give up ("pain" is not a reason to quit). Commit yourself to going for the minimum number of sessions (even if you decide to spread the sessions out over a longer period).

Is laser treatment painful???

i realli wan to get rid of all those ugly body hair..... helppp... becus of these ugly hair.. i cant wear sleeveless shirts and shorts.... i heard the commercials that say they r not painful... but den again, how could laser treatment not be painful... or is there any other ways for PERMANENT hair removal???

Is laser treatment painful???

Hi, There are other ways. Electrolysis is one. I did a lot of research %26amp; I chose Laser hair Removal for myself. I believe that Electrolysis would be more painful.

I have to tell you that it DID NOT hurt! I promise. I was very surprised. It also depends on what part of the body you do. I was told that the Bikini area %26amp; under the arms are sensitive %26amp; can hurt a little. If so, they can prescribe a numbing cream to apply before the procedure. It is actually a very quick process. If you are doing your legs for for example, it will take a bit longer. I was so surprised out how easy %26amp; painless it was. I cannot wait for my next appt! You do not go just one time %26amp; the hair is gone. You have to go at least 4-8 treatments. It is a process. Most people go an average of 6. Where I went, I paid one set price for as many treatments I need. Make sure that you ask what kind of laser they use. Then do research %26amp; make sure it is one of the newer ones out there. It really is something I recommend. You will be so much happier. I wish I had done it sooner %26amp; it is really nothing to be scared about. It is not painful. Good Luck!

I had mine done at Ideal Image. They are located in 12 different states. Here is their website.

http://www.idealimage.com/

No, they did not put anything on my skin before using the laser. They did put on aloe after though. My girlfriend just told me that it did hurt getting it under her arms, but that she would do it again, cause she never has to shave %26amp; loves it.

Is laser treatment painful???

eLECTROLYSIS.

Is laser treatment painful???

Body hair is an acceptable attribute of masculinity. Poor writing is not. Learn grammar and how to punctuate. All sentences start with a capital letter.

Is laser treatment painful???

I used laser for veins on my legs and it hurt like hell. It felt like I was getting shocked and it was very painful

Is laser treatment painful???

I have had lazer on lips and chin and it does hurt in this area. Mine was done by a dermatologist and most of it is back already. For the amount of money I had to spend and it being such a large area I think I would go for professional waxing.

Removing Unibrow?

A male friend of mine who has a unibrow and really does not like it. I am trying to help him research and he is undecided on whether to use tweezers and pluck the stray hairs or just let the hair stay. Waxing and permanent hair removal are not options at this point of time for him as he does not own a car that would get him to the beauty salon or can afford it. How fast do the hairs grow back when you tweezer them? THat is the main concern. He does not want to tweezer every day.

Removing Unibrow?

The more you tweeze, the slower the hairs will grow back. Tweezing damages the roots. You may have to tweeze every couple of weeks for the first little while. I tweeze my eyebrows about once a month (but I've been tweezing for years).

Start after a hot shower or steam the face to open the pores. Hold the skin taut, and pull in the direction the hair is growing. If it hurts apply gentle pressure for a few seconds with a finger. A cool cloth or aloe gel right after tweezing will reduce redness.

Lastly, a word of caution. Do not over tweeze. It can be habit forming! Step back from the mirror and look at the whole face every few hairs to make sure that you aren't making the eyebrow too thin or lopsided. Goodluck!

Removing Unibrow?

Tweezing is the best plan, and he wont have to tweeze everyday, just gradually start tweezing so its less noticeable, it usually takes about 2 weeks for it to grow back.

Removing Unibrow?

It takes about a week or so for an individual hair to grow back. Tell him tweezing doesn't hurt and it's cheap and easy.

Removing Unibrow?

Waxing is the only way your going to get rid of all of it. See if you can have a friend to take him or something.

Plastic Surgery Advice?

I'm 15 (turning 16 soon) and I want to get plastic surgery. I tried posting earlier but all I did was get bashed. So please don't bash me this time. How much do these surgeries cost? How fast can I start getting them? I'd like to have them all completed by the time I'm 20 or 21. Please post info and expierence is welcome. Thanks.

I want to get these surgeries:

Breast Implants

Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty

Arm Lift

Mole Removal

Ear Reduction/Scuplting

Lip Augmentation

Botox

Chemical Peel

Toe Reduction

Blepharoplasty

Permanent Hair Removal

Tooth Extraction

Invisible Braces

Veneers

I don't know if this surgery exist but I'd like to get a hair transplant to create a widow's peak on my hair line. Also I may consider butt implants if my slims down to much as I lose weight (from steroids).

I was really sick when I was younger and my body took a beating from it so I feel I was kinda robbed of my youth. I know I won't look young forever but I'd like to look young while I am.

Plastic Surgery Advice?

I'm sorry so many people were bashing you. A lot of these surgeries a fine and not extreme. A lot of them i want to get. Understand that these prices differ from surgeon to surgeon and state to state. Be sure you research your surgeon extremely well and make sure he or she is board certified. As for the widow's peak i'm unsure but i'll guess a few thousand. Many of these surgeries you can get at once but you will need to speak with a surgeon about which ones. Also you will need your parents' permission since you are under 18 or you can wait untill you are 18. Good luck to you!

Breast Implants 4,000-10,000

Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty 3,000-12,000 avg 4,500

Arm Lift 5,000-6,5000

Mole Removal 150-400

Ear Reduction/Scuplting 2,000-5,000

Lip Augmentation 150-1,500 depending on filler

Botox 200-800 depending on area

Chemical Peel 100-2,000 depending on area

Toe Reduction 400-1,800 depending on toe

Blepharoplasty 3,500-4,000

Permanent Hair Removal 100-900 depending on area size

Tooth Extraction 150-300 depending on tooth

Invisible Braces 4,000-9,000

Veneers 500-1,300 per tooth

Plastic Surgery Advice?

go to a tv show and ask for a make over

Plastic Surgery Advice?

Invisible braces are great, I've had them and get frequent compliments on my teeth, those are installed by an orthodontist they cost upwards of six thousand dollars depending on your teeth (they would cancel out the need for veneers, which actually ruin your teeth because to install them your teeth have to be ground down). Chemical peel would probably get done by an dermotologist and cost maybe a few hundred bucks. Mole removal should be relatively cheap it is a very quick procedure, takes a few seconds ( in the low hundreds). Laser hair removal sounds something safe. Everything else will do more harm than good, be careful if you have a bad medical history. For example, toe reduction sounds like it would ruin your balance, botox is a controlled dose of jellyfish poison. Be sensible for best results.

How Painful Is Electrolysis?

I have been reading up on permanent hair removal methods and I have found that electrolysis seems to be the only permanent method of removing hair. I am looking to have all my pubic, perineum, buttocks, back, armpits and chest hair removed. Do anyone know how many sessions this would take and if certain areas are more painful than others?

How Painful Is Electrolysis?

Thats a lot of hair to be removed..it will take a lot of sessions and be very expensive!

It is quite painful, especially around the pubes and armpits.

How Painful Is Electrolysis?

You would need to check with a salon they would work on the areas you want treated. I've found electrolysis uncomfortable but if it's for permanent hair removal it's worth it! Why don't you go in for a trial - you could perhaps have a five minute session to see how you could cope?

How Painful Is Electrolysis?

I've had Lasar Hair removal treatments at hospital. It is extremely painful, I won't lie. It cost me 鎷?00 per 15 mins session. I needed 8 sessions. Good luck.

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

I have very dark, coarse hair on my lower legs, and although they feel smooth after I shave them, I can still see the shadlow of the hair below the surface. How do I get rid of this? Even using depilatories doesn't make my skin look hair-free, and I'm not willing to go through the trouble of waxing/epilating or permanent hair removal. Has anyone had this same problem, and found a product that helps? I've heard of hair growth deterrents, but I've never used them and I don't know if they work for dark, coarse hair.

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

I also have thick hair on my lower legs and arms (which I wax), but I never get the shadow effect, If I were you I wouldn't use the hair deterrents , it doesn't work I've tried many products but they never work. Try getting your legs tanned that way you can't see the shadow cos your legs will be brown and it will blend in, also try not to shave it while the hairs a still short, if you can maybe shave every 3-4 days to allow the hair to grow properly I find that helps a lot.

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

omgg i have that too! it literally looks like big dark pores on my leg or something haha

I have literally put foundation on my leg just to cover it up and

if you find out a way , pleassee let me know

your not alone with this haha

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

dont shave!! it brings 2wice the hair and makes it more thick!! use an epilator..

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

Me too going thru the same thing! But not yet been able to think of/find a solution!

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

i think u should opt for waxing as no hair residue is left and your hair start growing after 3 weeks. but before shaving u can try a moisturiser and than start shaving!!!

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

do you shave comming up towrards your knee? Or downward?

The best way I have tried was, to shave downward. What I mean by that is, instead of shaving upward [starting at ankel and comming up], start at the top of your leg and go down. Make sure you use shaving cream as well.

Good luck

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

I have that too. I found out about Jergens Shave Minimizer Cream or something like that, but I haven't found it in any store that I've looked for it at. Then there's this Surgi Hair Stop that supposed to make your leg hair (or whatever hair i guess) finer and less noticable. After a couple weeks of use it stops hair growth. I really want it, but I can't find that anywhere! I think you can buy it online at like 2 places, that's it. Anyway I don't know if these work. I just thought I'd let you know about it. Good Luck!

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

Those are ingrown hairs. I had them a couple of weeks ago and this helped. I now use Aveeno shave gel for sensitive skin and Noxema razors. These help my skin to look even. This combo shaves very well and is gentle on my sensitive skin. Only shave 1-2 times per week. Hope I helped!

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

omg me too but sorry i don't know either, let me know if you find out

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

laser is the best option , but it's expensive.

if you fear the pain that comes with waxing get it professionally done or use the braun hair remover with the massage apparatus that relives pain or apply ice or take ibuprofen before using it. there are other more effective methods for pain but not neccesarily safe so i won't mention them .

you can also use a painfree method that helps exfoliate skin as well which is the use of abrasives like pumice rock or sand paper gloves bu it is not commonly used today

if you continue to shave your legs will feel and look like a man's chin which is not good , keep shaving for emergencies .

How do I get rid of the "shadow" from shaving my legs?

I have that too. try shaving alittle less and investing in a very good razer. also try a hair remover or wax, or put tanning lotionon your legs.

Ways to remove facial hair other than shaving?

Hi! Shaving is really ineffective... it works for a very short time, and it doesn't remove hair perfectly... it also irritates the skin a lot. So, what are some other ways to remove facial hair? I know there's laser hair removal, but it's much too expensive for me now. :( I know I'll never want any facial hair, so permanent methods are welcome :)

Ways to remove facial hair other than shaving?

There are facial hair removal creams on the market (even in the grocery stores) that are quite effective. Personally I like the electric gizmos that look like a shaver but they pluck the hair instead of cutting it, therefore removing the roots. You can buy one in cosmetic stores anywhere from $25. to $75.

Ways to remove facial hair other than shaving?

Rip the skin off?

Ways to remove facial hair other than shaving?

Waxing But anything other than shaving is extrodinariyl painful. I use an electirc shaver with good effect.

Ingrown hairs?

I have tried exfoliating with everything out there! ANything that an estetician suggests, I do. Yet I still end up with ingrown hairs all over my legs. I don't shave on a regular basis either, but when I do, I always use a new blade and shaving gel for women. The only option I can think of at this point is permanent hair removal..unless someone can suggest something?? Please help, as it tends to cause a little pain in areas.

Ingrown hairs?

Wow...that's quite a pickle. The only other option that I can think of that you haven't suggested would be sugaring. It's very similar to waxing, except that it is supposed to be a bit gentler on your skin. This might reduce the number of ingrowns you get, but I can't guarantee anything. When you waxed your legs, did you do it with an at home waxing kit, or at the salon? The salon might be a place to try as they have much better luck at removing all the hair. With an at home waxing kit, you just can't reach everything and remove it as cleanly as a professional. If you want to try it at home, try getting one of the warm wax kits that you can heat up in the microwave or on the stove. This opens up your follicles, letting you remove the hairs more cleanly.

I hope something I suggested here works. Until it does, you're doing the right thing by exfoliating every day. Even using a loofah on dry skin helps remove dead skin. If all else fails, laser hair removal or electrolysis might be the way to go, if you're willing to shell out the big bucks. Good luck!

Ingrown hairs?

In regards to your OHIP question...I honestly have no idea. My first thought would be to say no because electrolysis isn't a "required" procedure. But I'd check it out with your provincial government, cause stranger things have happened! Report It

Ingrown hairs?

which areas? :)

Ingrown hairs?

I get this too or used to. I stopped shaving and started waxing and have never hd those bumps again.

Use Bikini Zone. It will make the bumps go down. After they are gone wax don't shave with a razor anymore. Get nair. I get the kind that I wipe on...wait 15 min and wipe it off with a damp, warm washcloth then shower to remove the rest of the hair. It gives me a very smooth finish and no bumps!!

Remember: get the bikini zone (I got mine at wal-mart) then get some nair. You can find them in the same aisle at wal-mart.

Hair dye removal?

I dyed my hair a couple of weeks ago and i was wondering if there was anyway to take the haircolor out? it was permanent which was stupid on my part but now that prom is right around the corner i want my hair to look nice again! is there anything i can do? thank you

Hair dye removal?

It depends how you dyed it. If you put Manic Panic or some other color in your hair, then it will take lots of washings to get most of it out. If you dyed it some "normal" color, then you can try dying it back. But regardless of what you do, it will not look the same as before.

Hair dye removal?

You can dye it back to your natural color. You can't take out the other color. You just have to wait until it grows out which will take months. The only thing I know you can do until then is dye your hair its natural color. It may also depend on your natural hair color and what color you dyed it.

Who have tried Epila? is it really useful to remove all hairs of body?

EPILA, a laser hair eliminator, is a medical instrument, manufactured on the basis of the scientific researches and up-to-date technologies. 808nm wavelength being used worldwide for hair removal has been proved to be an average of 80% effective for permanent hair removal by world leading research institutes and Universities. Even if the laser is not emitted directly on hair, it also has a hair removal effect by emitting onto the root of hair through the skin because 808nm wavelength penetrates deep into the root of hair.

How Do I know if a laser hair removal place is using FDA approved lasers?

If they claim they are FDA should I just believe it or is there a way to make sure they are telling the truth? Also I know sometime the laser can burn you and cause a permanent scar, but how big would the scar be? Thanks in advance

How Do I know if a laser hair removal place is using FDA approved lasers?

Get the name of the laser and go to http://www.HairRemovalForum.com or go to the FDA website. If there is a burn, the size of it is dependent of the "spot" size of the laser. Some are the size of a quarter and then it would be dependent on how many pulses burn you. This should be very rare and a good, knowledgeable provider will make sure you are OK. The biggest risk is if you get a tan and don't tell the provider and they use the previous settings when you had no tan.

The attached website also has a list of providers who have received positive survey results from previous customers.

How Do I know if a laser hair removal place is using FDA approved lasers?

The FDA website should have information on that, there may even be a sticker they apply to the Lazar itself. Scars are usually small, individually, but if there is a group of them, they may be larger. It's a fairly expensive method, but it is effective. It may take more than one treatment of each hair to eliminate it.

How much does laser for underarm hair removal cost in the philippines?

for those who has tried it, is it good? is it permanent? how many sessions and estimate cost please.... does it hurt?

How much does laser for underarm hair removal cost in the philippines?

A few Rupiahs

How much does laser for underarm hair removal cost in the philippines?

I have no idea how much it costs in the philippines. Costs vary here in the states. I got a package with numerous body parts in it, so I don't recall how much underarms alone were. All I suggest is to shop around. As far as effectiveness, that's also very much dependent on the individual. My sessions are taking a LOT longer than what they said they would.

How much does laser for underarm hair removal cost in the philippines?

depends if ur like really hairy .....or less hairy

How much does laser for underarm hair removal cost in the philippines?

It's 4,000. to 4,500. per session, done by a dermatologist.

Usually take 5-8 sessions

l suggest you call the clinic of Dr. Vicki Belo or Drs. Calayan for that matter. They could give you an estimation. They might have a website of their own.

What is your experience with laser hair removal?

Can you tell me about the feeling during and after, the price and if it is really permanent. Who did it: a dermatologist M.D. or an aesthetician?

I am thinking, upper lip, armpits and bikini line.

What is your experience with laser hair removal?

I had it done by a nurse on the back of my neck and it is still gone 6 years later. My wife had it done on her UA, bikini and legs and she had great results as well. Who is less important than their experience level and the equipment they use.

You can go to http://www.HairRemovalForum.com for more information. The site has a directory of qualified providers with great experience and good equipment.

What is your experience with laser hair removal?

it was a buring sensation that lasted for days, and i was in extreme pain...the pain was so intense that i had to take morphine

What is your experience with laser hair removal?

I had laser surgery for stretch marks and leg/arm hair. Before the treatment they applied a special lotion to protect my skin from burning from the rays. Afterwards it felt great; no hair, no stretchmarks. Plus, the skin felt creamier and smoother. It cost me about $5,000 dollars, but insurance paid for it. I went to a laser clinic refered to me by my local dermatologist.

What is your experience with laser hair removal?

My dad had the hair on this back lasered off. and it grew back again even though he had like 5 sessions of it. But i doubt it would grow back unless your as hairy as my dad.

A question about laser hair removal for bikini area?

I have read and heard that instead of a brazilian wax it is now possible to get a 'brazilian' laser treatment. Is this more or less painful than waxing? Is it very expensive? Is it permanent the first time or do you have to have it done more than once? How long does it take?

A question about laser hair removal for bikini area?

It takes several sessions, and during, the laser feels like someone is snapping a rubber band on you. I would say it's more painful in the short run, but once the hair is gone, it's gone. The prices vary depending on where you live, and on how nice the place is, but it is not cheap anywhere.

A question about laser hair removal for bikini area?

The difference is, laser removes the hair permanently and it costs about $3,000 for 4-6 sessions. Side effect is that you can have slighlty burn marks, rarely, but possible.

A question about laser hair removal for bikini area?

I found this http://sivu.at/ee4d article it should answer your question it has some good information on laser hair removal and good deals etc.

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

i heard it was 6 months. is it six months or is it permanent?

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

I have heard that it takes several treatments to kill all the hair follicles. Then it is permanent. Hope this helps.

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

no hair ever again

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

Depending on how much hair and how thick it is, going to one of those clinics it may take you up to 8 months. After that, you won't see any hair again... ever!

Good luck, dear

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

permanent

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

Maybe what you heard is that it takes 6 months OF TREATMENTS to make the hair stop growing? You go about once every month for 3-8 months (depending on how thick the hair is to begin with). After the hair stops growing completely, it should be permanent. About 35% of the time, however, you will need a touch-up treatment or two, many years down the road. Good luck with laser if you try it! :)

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal has proved to be a highly popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure. It is a noninvasive, convenient way to permanently reduce unwanted facial or body hair.

Technique

The process takes from several minutes to several hours, depending on the area of the body involved. Laser hair removal uses a low-energy laser. Laser energy passes through the patient閳ユ獨 skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. A percentage of the follicles are instantaneously and permanently disabled with each treatment. No anesthesia is necessary in most cases.

Benefits

A noninvasive, gentle technique that eliminates undesirable hair from all parts of the body

Leaves skin looking smoother and silkier

Treats larger areas effectively because it removes more than one hair at a time

Minimal discomfort

Replaces waxing, electrolysis and razors

Patients can immediately return to normal activities

Other Considerations

Laser hair removal is an ongoing process that requires multiple sessions

Patients might experience a temporary slight reddening of the skin or localized swelling

Specially formulated skin care produces and/or a prescribed skin care regimen may be required

Sunscreen is recommended for any treated areas exposed to the sun

Blonde, white or gray hairs are less responsive to laser treatments and sometimes cannot be treated

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

mine has been permanent. but I have had to do serveral treatments over the last 6 years to get the desired results that I have been looking for. All literature provided by my dermatologist say that it is permanent.

How long does laser hair removal lasts?

It is permanent hair reduction. I have had the procedure (6 years ago) and none of the hair in the area returned. From what I understand, hormonal changes can cause inactive follicles that weren't treated to become active in the future.

Does the laser hair removal works?

I was thinking to do that on my back and chest and i just dont know is it permanent or no and how much time will it take to do that oh ye and the aprocsimit price?

Does the laser hair removal works?

It's semi permanent.

Does the laser hair removal works?

You will need a couple treatments so that it is permanent. Many people have gotten severe burns from laser hair removal and now they have to live with that. So you always have to be alert and make sure you talk with the person whose doing that to you. I heard that it doesnt work as well on african americans (no i'm not being racist) thats just what i heard..also go here

http://www.cosmeticsurgery.com/research/... you need to read that

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEN QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK YOUR SURGEON!!!!! THATS VERY VERY IMMPORTANT

Does the laser hair removal works?

Your back and chest are going to cost you a few hundred depending on how hairy you are. It is generally permenant but some areas may have to be gone over twice. It will take a few visits as they will not do a large area at once.

Does the laser hair removal works?

Under FDA regulations the only statement any laser hair removal place can make is hair reduction. It will reduce about 85% or higher of the hair. It takes at least 3-4 treatments as hair grows in cycles and it's nearly impossible for it to get all of it. prices vary. 4 treatments on full back is about $2800 where I am going. I think it's about the $2300 or higher on the chest and abs. Be sure you find a good center as lower intensity should be started and they increase intensity throughout the treatments. Numbing cream is available to help control pain which is applied approximately an hour before treatment and the area is covered with plastic wrap until treatment time. Good Luck..

Does the laser hair removal works?

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods. Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

What I want to know is, are the results permanent, and is it possible to get visible results on areas other than your face without doing it hundreds of times?

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

My friend brought one of these and it is now in her cupboard, she said it would take forever just to get rid of a small amount of body hair. She used it but was not impressed with it.

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

I have a small, cheap home electrolysis kit, i've only used on a small patch of hair on my stomach but there it has removed it permanetly. You do have to do it for several cycles but not hundreds of time. It is worth it in my opinion.

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

i bought one fro my eyebrows and basically it was a glorified pair of tweezers on a wire and when you pulled the tweezers off the base a red light came onto make you think it was in action.total waste of money. a load of tripe. just keep shaving , waxing and using hair removal cream like the rest of us!!!

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

I think it depends on what brand you get. There will never be a quick fix remedy. I use a Beautico E - Pen and personally I would recommend it to any one. Yes I have used it hundreds of times but I can see the results, it is worth it!!! It is painless too. It can be used all over the face/body as it comes with various size/shape pads.

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

ok this is in my line of work, i work in beauty...i have never used one before but i do know that it is not permenant. If it is something more permanent that you want then there is a treatmant called IPL stands for intense pulsed light a form of laser but it uses light instead it is a hair reduction. It is in alot of salons now depending on where you are you would have to do your homework!I have had this treatment and i love it, its fab.Not really painfull but is costy. Type it into the net that will give you more info! Other than that i would say go for Waxing!! hope this helps good look

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

years ago i used an at home probe(needle) and recently used the Verseo E-pen. Both work but I wouldnt recommend probes they hurt too much and you run the risk of scars. The E-Pen works great and is permenant but the down side is that the pads are small and you need buy many of them along with the conductive gel since each pad is only good for 8 uses.

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

they get rid of ONE HAIR AT A TIME!! so count all the hairs on your body .. thats how many minutes it'll take .. dont do it WASTE OF TIME ..

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

Home electrolysis is a total waste of time. I used to work at a MediSpa and people would come in constantly with stories on how they wasted their time with it. Getting it done right, at a reputable location, is much less expensive and frustrating over the long haul.

The attached site has a message board filled with complaints on home electrolysis. The site also offers providers of in office procedures. Good luck.

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method approved by die American Food and Drug Administration. It requires a highly skilled beautician because if not used properly you can burn, get infected and get scars. There is only one way, and that is to insert a needle into each hair follicle hundreds of times. Electric tweezers and other stuff don't work.

You can get results but you must be aware of the incredible risk you take. I won't recommend it all. It's only for a small area and how are you going to see what you are doing on the backs of your legs? You really can get bad skin damage with home machines. Rather save money and go to a pro, or go for laser (which is not permant removal but rather long-term reduction by the way).

Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

Hi!

home electrolysis hair removal has been known to be non-effective in permanently removing hair from the body. If you are keen on a long term solution, you shld be considering electrolysis hair removal done by an electrologist or laser hair removal.

Electrologists, who are well-trained to perform the electroysis hair removal procedure, usually make use of medical electrolysis devices( known as epilators) to destroy the growth center of the hair with a short-wave radio frequency. In addition, a very fine needle is inserted into the hair follicle at the skin surface in order to remove the hair with forceps easily. In this way, the electrologist can accurately disable the hair root and cause minimal harm to other parts of the head.

Does the hair removal product NADs really work??

I've heard horror stories saying it left permanent scars on some people but i want to try it. Can anyone help?

Does the hair removal product NADs really work??

It removes hair... But DAMN!!! It hurts like HELL!!! I used it once and will NEVER use it again!!! I do not recommend it at all....

Does the hair removal product NADs really work??

Follow product instructions (usually, a test on a small skin area first) - some chemicals may react adversely with your skin.

Does the hair removal product NADs really work??

No, it does not work. I tried to use it and there were patches where it did not pull out at all, like it could not bond to my skin and on other parts I actually lost skin. That stuff is horrible and painful. She totally lies when she says it does not hurt.

Does the hair removal product NADs really work??

no it don't work, i don't know about scar, i heard that laser hair removal is really good, you pay like 600 then get 3 or 6 treatment depends on how much body hair u have, i planning to get a laser hair removal this summer ^_^

Does the hair removal product NADs really work??

I have tried it, and it did not do a thing for me. It was a waste of time and money. Actually, it irritated my skin and left me with a rash, so in the end I was in a bigger mess than before. I would not recommend using it.

Hair removal by laser?

i had my burger done about 2 years ago as my hubby hates flossing with my pubes. It took 5 goes with lazer and im as bald as a badger after this. no stubble no hair!

Hair removal by laser?

It can be effective, but it everyone's skin and hair is different.

For some women, it takes only a few treatments, for others a few extra. Some women report severe skin irritation or some burning.

Factors: Skin color and sensitivity, hair color and thickness, laser type, experience of technition.

I know many women who have done the laser treatment, and have gone back to doing electrolysis. Others are completlely satisfied. I suggest you get a recommendation from a friend who shares the same skin and hair complexion as you.

Hair removal by laser?

I wouldn't try laser. Just like with one of these other things (not sure what it's called at this moment) it hurts incredibly, can cause scarring, blotching in skin tone, and it is WAY expensive and requires MULTIPLE TREATMENTS to work.

Try something painless and scar-less, but clinically proven and saves money, plus requires maybe two or three treatments tops. I haven't personally used it, but I've had friends who did, and they say not a hair in sight on the areas they used it in!

Did I also mention that it has been FDA approved?!

Hair removal by laser?

Removing Facial Hair through Laser

Unwanted facial hair can spoil your appearance. Hence removing them is a must. There are many ways to achieve this goal, both traditional as well as modern. Traditional methods include waxing, shaving, plucking and electrolysis. But you need to do these methods frequently as they do not destroy the hair root but just remove the hair from superficial level.

But with the arrival of laser, everything has changed. Though this treatment may seem expensive, it turns out to be economical in the end. This treatment is carried out by focusing a laser beam with low intensity on the hair follicles. This results in the destruction of hair roots but the skin surrounding it is not affected. Best of all it is painless procedure. If you experience any discomfort, you can ask for local anesthetic to prevent yourself from experiencing the pain. But in general, you can do this process without numbing yourself, as there is hardly any pain involved. Besides, it is a safe process as hardly any pain is involved.

With the laser technology becoming popular, many centers have sprung up offering this facility. Check them out thoroughly before finalizing on one. Find out if you can get the personal attention given from the specialists and whether the latest technology is used. Get recommendations from your friends who have undergone this treatment. Internet as well as yellow pages can also be a good source of information.

For the WOMEN to answer: Do you think I should get laser hair removal for my...?

...nether regions?? I mean...I want to get it ALL permanently removed. Perhaps I'd keep a landing strip there so I'd have SOMETHING at least.

Anyways, currently I have to shave or wax (um, oww!) like once a week at least, and I hate it. You know how time consuming it is!

Well, my sister says it just wouldn't be natural and that my body won't be young and beautiful (hey, her words- not mine!) forever...

I don't know if I should do it or not...it IS permanent process!

Help! What do you think?? Would you do it for ALL your hair down there??

For the WOMEN to answer: Do you think I should get laser hair removal for my...?

I say do what will make you happy. Laser hair removal will take several times to get all the hair and isn't painless but my understanding is that it hurts a lot less than waxing. It may be a good idea to keep a landing strip so you have options as you get older.

For the WOMEN to answer: Do you think I should get laser hair removal for my...?

Not something I would do, but I thought laser hair removal was lasted only six months. I'm confused.

If this is what you want to do then do it.

For the WOMEN to answer: Do you think I should get laser hair removal for my...?

Well, with it being permanent, maybe you shouldnt do the whole thing. Landing strip might be a better idea. Plus, I dont know if youre married or not, but what if you end up with a guy who doesnt want it all gone? (not that you should be doing it for a guy or anything)... but in my opinon, just get a reduction in the amount of hair you have, not the whole thing.

For the WOMEN to answer: Do you think I should get laser hair removal for my...?

i wouldn't suggest permanently removing it

About how much does it cost to get laser hair removal treatments on the pubic region?

I live in California (Central Valley).

As some of you may know, I am disabled. Therefore, it is more difficult for me to keep up with hygiene. And so, I have been considering using laser treatments to have my pubic hair removed. I have tried other temporary methods such as hair clippers, and I don't really like those that much because the blade pokes my skin way too much. From what I hear, waxing is even more painful.

To the best of your knowledge, how much would you say it costs for a laser treatment on that particular area of the body? How many follow-up treatments are required? I am Caucasian and don't really tan much. I understand that laser treatments are relatively permanent solutions, but that is okay with me. I hate feeling itchy and sweaty all of the time. Plus, being hairless in that region will be beneficial for me in certain situations anyway. *wink, wink*

Thank you in advance.

About how much does it cost to get laser hair removal treatments on the pubic region?

Hi, I'm currently getting the hair removal by laser done in my privates. It is called a Brazillian. You still have to shave before your treatment, but the difference is that the areas they do treat don't get itchy in the same way. You still get a sun burn type of itch but not as bad as the one you get from shaving alone. Being white with dark hair is best for successful treatments. The darker the hair the better focus the laser gets on the hair and not on your skin. Sex does feel great without hair and the smoothness is great. You do feel cleaner and easier to clean. Depending on how much perspiration you have down there, you may need to apply talc or baby powder during the warmer months or if you have many skin folds if you aren't able to lose weight or exercise (you did mention being disabled)... overall I recommend it, it is painful and costly and time consuming but when you are finished, you feel so much better. Cost depends on where, when, and with whom you get the treatment. Some places offer packages with warranties and others offer a-la-carte options where you can get as many treatments as you like or need. The packages end up being cheaper and sometimes these places offer monthly specials buy one buy the other half price, etc. You will most likely be buying numbing cream depending on your pain tollerance. The numbing cream will not "numb" the pain out completely, it only takes the main sting away; you will still feel like you are getting a tatoo and then your skin will feel like you have a sun burn (the burning sensation goes away in a day or so) and you get to apply after treatment lotion to the area. Consultation is usually free with most places, so go in and talk to them; they should be able to answer most of your questions...and I'm sure you're wondering about getting erections during treatment (even if you're not wondering)....I'll tell you that it happens not because you are turned on during the painful treatment, but sometimes the laser stimulates certain nerve bundles that end up echoing throughout the pelvic region. The nurses are professionals anyways they have seen many peepees in their lives...just don't be creapy about it. Good luck.

How exactly does laser hair removal work?

Technically this is lots of questions....so here goes...Is it permanent? What's the general expense expectations? Will it work on anyone? I've got light skin, and light "peach fuzz" type facial hair, do you think I would get good results? Also, is it painful or rough on your skin? Where would I go to get the procedure doneproperly? I know nothing about it, so any tips or information is greatly appreciated!

How exactly does laser hair removal work?

I had my laser hair removal today first time! I had my underarms done. It took about 20 minutes, I felt the pain, but it was bearable, a little worse than getting a tattoo. The lady who did it was very understanding and very gentle.

After treatment lots of hair just fell off! And the skin in the area where they fell off is very smooth now, like baby skin.

The woman told me that it takes from 4 to 6 treatments to completely get rid of all hair permanently; there are approximately 5-6 weeks between each treatment. They charged me $265 per treatment. I live in Boca Raton, Florida.

I am happy so far and planning to do brazilian laser hair removal soon, too. It cost more expensive though, $370 per treatment so I need to start saving some money!

Go for it, the only thing that I suggest is to check that the person who perfoms laser hair removal has license to do that, and then you will be fine!

Good luck!

Below is an article that may help. Some people get better results than others and this should clear it up a little.

How exactly does laser hair removal work?

My aunt does this stuff so i can anwser almost every question. First of all it is NOT permanent. You have to go back and get it done about every month. You can ask your doctor for a place near you that would do it but besides that you can go to pretty much any spa place. I have heard that they will tell you there if it will work good on your skin or hair so you can just ask and they will be able to tell you. It is diferent for every person! I hope that this helped you a little!

How exactly does laser hair removal work?

hi, I am currently suffering from chin hairs, ew I know girl, Well the lazer it self , feels like a burst of mist slashing on your skin ( steam- ish pulsating-ish kind of ..splash) and thats it- no pain- clicking noise thats it., its about $75-100 per treatment, the hair dosent fall off right away, u must shave everyday between treatments - if its a bad area(like mine) . They say the color of your skin supposed to affect the results of discoloration. and it might ..., but my advise to you is to check credintials, ask a LOT of questions, and remember there a several difffrent 'lazers', for instance* I need a yag lazer becuase im darker. ( I once saw a provider who failed to educate me about that),, in my honest opinion when chosing someone to do it, choose expierence over education. only because lazer treatment is so customized, and there are so many skin color myths. And ask a LOT of questions,

How exactly does laser hair removal work?

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods. Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. If the are very small try waxing; They should grow back but thinner and thinner, Never shave, that would give you the opposite result. Now, if it really bother you and you are ready for the big bucks, go for laser hair removal, this is permanent.

Either get it laser removed, or use NADS until it is very thin, and not noticeable. I prefer NADS...it's a hair removal product, that doesn't sting when you pull it from your skin. If it's small-small, it's probably not noticeable...don't waste your money..

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

I have a question, WHAT exactly is a brazilian wax? Does it remove ALL the hair in the pubic region from front to back?

Also, is this the best alternative if you want to be 100% CLEAN down there?

I know there is aesthetic, laser, and wax? Which one gives you longer results? Is there a permanent solution? In order, which is most painful and expensive?

I like being clean all the time but shaving sux and creams like veet are messy with only temporary results.

Thanks for the help!

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

Lasers are the most effective and permanent solution for removal of hair on the body. It requires several treatments and can be expensive, but add up the cost of products, time spent, and the hassle of getting nicked or having skin react to shaving or creams, and laser comes out way ahead in my opinion.

What you are looking for is called a brazilian. A brazilian removes all hair from the pubic area, including the perineum and around the anal area, and in between the folds. It may also include any hair that grows above the pubic bone onto the lower belly. A good technician will do a test patch to be sure your skin handles the laser well. There will be some swelling and mild redness, but this will disappear quickly. The cost can be approx. $300-$400. per treatment and people usually require 3-4 sessions to succesfully remove all the hair. You will be asked to shave the area you would like to have lasered prior to the treatment. Dark hair responds best to lasers treatment. Laser can be done anywhere on the body, but the skin must be intact, and a good technician will avoid moles, etc.

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

a brazilian is hair removal from absolutely everywhere in the pubic region. laser would probably be the answer your after, nothing on the market is really permanent. although laser is the longest lasting up to several months. waxing on the other hand is a once a month thing and is less expensive. I would say have a brazilian wax first so you know what it is your getting then go for something like laser if your happy with it.

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

Well it really depends on your threshold level of pain and the size of your pocketbook....

A brazilian wax removes all the hair down there. It can cost about $60-$80 each time and you'd have to get it done about once a month.

The laser thing is more permanent... it's supposed to eventually stop hair growth all together. Obviously it's a lot more expensive... I'm not sure how much each session costs, but I know it's in the hundreds of dollars range. It takes several sessions before the hair stops growing. It's a lot less painful than waxing.

Good luck! :)

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

Yes, a Brazilian wax removes all hair, and of course is not permanent. I have not done this but I think it's pretty painful once you get to the more sensitive areas. Waxing is less expensive than laser, but of course it needs to be repeated often. Laser is the most permanent, is less painful than waxing, and is probably cheaper in the long run. You would have to check prices in your area, but it would be over $1000 for sure. However, you might not have to pay the whole fee up front. It's a long term process, and appointments are scheduled about every 6 or 7 weeks over a period of a year or so. All hair is removed at each visit, but since there's always some hair not growing at any given time, there will be some regrowth (but not much), inbetween visits. Any new growth needs to be shaved, not waxed prior to the next visit...because they need to get to the root of the hair that waxing would remove, but the regrowth is not like what you started with so it's not too bad.

If you want to be "100% clean" all the time, then laser is your best and least painful option, really. I had just the bikini line area done and it was well worth the money. I was able to make a payment every time I went for a visit, so I didn't have to pay the total fee up front. Ask around in your area and get some estimates.

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

Laser produces permanent results but can be costly and time consuming.

A Brazilian removes all the pubic hair except for a tiny "landing strip", as well as removes the hair around the anus.

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

The more long term solution would be laser hair removal and could provide the permanent solution you are looking for. The laser hair removal option is expensive but gives lasting results. I think they are all equally painful but the pain doesn't last very long with all of them.

Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

Since everyone has already answered, i'll say this, brazilian wax removes all hair from your pubic area, around your vagina and yes, around the anal area if you want.

The first time you get a wax, it will be very smooth. Make sure that your hair is 1/4 of an inch, otherwise the beautician won't be able to pull all of it out as it'll be too short (ouch!).

As a chick, there is no 100% 'all the time' hairless solution. Let's be honest here. Laser surgery is an ok possibility, and for most people, while it's costly it usually isn't always permanent. And it doesn't always work. Some people's hair growth is different from others, making laser surgery on body hair a complex issue. If it's particularly fast growing, it could take months of treatments. Very, very costly! And it might not work. They make it a 'no guarantee' thing if you read between the lines carefully.

If it was that simple, don't you think everyone would be getting laser surgery on every hairy body part?

I'm telling you like it is, brazilian is good but painful for the first time. It always is a little, but it's much better than Veet in terms of how long it'll last i can guarantee you! You might never find a 'permanent solution', but it just depends what rocks your boat, so to speak. I don't know where people get 3-4 weeks of clean smooth results from brazilian wax from, because everybody's rate of hair growth is different. If your hair grows back fast, i can guarantee the smoothness might only last a week. If it's light, then you might get 2-3 weeks before the painful regrowth starts and you have to exfoliate that area (YES!) almost everyday until you go back for another wax.

Good luck. Experiment.

Laser hair removal?

Has anyone done it? and what all can you get removed and is it permanent?

I was wondering because i dont have that much; but i would like to know if i can get the hair removed above my lips?

Laser hair removal?

a user called time4colts answered this question 2 months ago...here is her answer

"Ive had laser hair removal done to my facial area. Laser removal is good for many reasons. It lightens hair over a period of six treatments or more, and makes the hair finer in texture. It also is only attracted to dark pigmented hair. So, if your a Blondie or have lots of fine lighter hair, this procedure may not be for you. Over all, Ive been pretty satisfied. Keep in mind that not all the hair is permanently gone. About 80% is gone, and there's no guarantee that it wont come back when i go thru menopause or other hormonal changes. That has allot to do with hair growth of any kind. Unless you have a smaller targeted area that you cant live with, in my case a dark mustache, save your money and invest in a good razor. Laser hair removal is very costly! "

i hope this helps because i really don't know anything about it! :)

Laser hair removal?

no problem, thanks for the rating! :) Report It

Laser hair removal?

Not safe. Plucking each hair one by one is safer.

Laser hair removal?

just get one of those final touch hair remover , it's much cheaper , laser remover only works on dark hair and the treatment dosen't work the first time it could take 3 to 4 times and it is costly

Laser hair removal?

well from what i hear the more laser treatments you have it kills the hair follicle and after enough visits the hair takes long to grow back

Laser hair removal?

My friend is in the process of laser hair removal.

I say process because that's exactly what it is.

She is getting her legs and bikini area done.

It takes at least 3 times of going in

to have the hair be removed permanently.

Each visit is super expensive

and also leaves the area red and sensitive.

My friend showed me hers and it looks like a rash.

Of course, if you are only getting your lip hair removed,

it is going to be less expensive

and you may only need to get it done a couple times

in order for it to be permanently removed

since the hair there is thinner.

But the best thing to do is talk to a professional

about your specific needs.

She will be able to give you exact answers.

Also, ask how long the rash lasts for.

Although you can hide most of it with makeup,

you don't want it on your face for any length of time!

Good luck :)

Does laser hair removal work for light haired people?

I have a mix of light and dark hair on my face and I want to get rid of it for good. I heard that the laser won't detect the light hairs...is this true? What options do lighter haired people like me have that are permanent?

Does laser hair removal work for light haired people?

It works on all hair types and colors, just make sure you have alot of money saved up, you'll need a couple of Visits and i've heard that if you just stop all together the hair will grow back, so ask the dermotologist whats the worst case senerio before you commit yourself.

Laser hair removal -- How long till dormant hair shows up again?

I know similiar questions have been asked, but I am under the impresion that when you undergo treatment the hair is stunned for a certain period before the hair that was not destroyed begins to grow back again? How accurate is this exactly, and how long is that period? Also they tell me that the hair will continue to grow for a short period after it's treated but once the remainder of it grows out the destroyed foliciles will not return.... I'd like more details as i'd prefer permanent to waxing and I wonder if it's ample enough of a choice to have a clean chest for someone who is visiting within a certain period (I plan to continue treatment afterwards until it's complete)... Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
