This removal system claims to be painless, permanent, not expensive and FDA approved - seems to be too good to be true. And the most interesting thing is that it was invented over 25 years ago, and I have never heard any word-of-mouth recommendations. I am tired of shaving on a daily basis, but at the same time do not want to try something that is ineffective or harmfull. What is your understanding of the product?

From what I've been told over the years: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I personally find it hard to belive that it would be altogether painless. I mean, you are destroying the hair at the root, there should be pain involved somewhere. It actually sounds a lot like a laser procedure; killing hair at the root. It claims painfree, permanent hair removal. Says it's FDA approved, but I can't find anything about it on the FDA website. I agree with you that it is interesting that a product this amzing, this perfect wouldn't be more widely known. This was the first time I've heard of it. A quick search on Yahoo gave me a lot of advertising sites, you know the kind, it's just another search engine with 10,000 results for "Finally Free Hair Removal."

Personally, I would say skip it. It just sounds like something that might get you hurt, or burned, not really worth the risk and the $100+ you'd end up spending on the system.

I know there are a lot of methods out there, but I know that electrolysis is like the only PERMANENT method. I was just wondering from your experience or what you have read/heard, how good is it? Does it leave scars or any kind of external of internal damage? The LAST thing I was is any kind of scars, no matter how big or small. I can deal with a little redness for a few days or whatever, but nothing drastic.

I was thinking about getting my full body done in a few years, or atleast my front/back and maybe arms and bikini area. And yes this is with electrolysis so like, on a scale from 1-10, how painful would it be? And as far as temporary methods go, like laser, how good is that? I don't think waxing would be good for me since I have a huge fear of pain.

Again, I don't want anything that leaves scars/bumps/gross things or any permanent damage. BTW, I have dark hair and light/olivish skin if that makes a difference. Ty!

I did hv some scars initially but the disappeared in some time...u need to be clear and tell the person that u do not want a single scar on ur body.

I've gotten laser hair removal before and it's the best thing i've ever done. You want to make sure you go to a good laser center so that you know the hair is going to be gone for good because laser hair removal is a permanent hair removal method. There are bound to be stray hairs that appear every so often, but you can just pluck those or shave them.

Laser hair removal requires a minimum of 5 sessions(more depending on the area - for ex. the bikini area) and works best on people with dark hair and light skin. If the nurse or doctor is a good one, they will tell you they cannot use laser on your if your skin is dark or tan, or your hair is light. The laser just won't pick up your hair!!!

You're not supposed to wax or pluck the desired area sooner than four weeks prior to your appointment. You can shave three to two days before though.

The pain is tolerable. Some areas are not painful at all where as the bikni area or underarms which are more sensitive do have slight pain, which you can always tell the doctor or nurse to stop for just a few secs, then start again. Really, i'm seventeen and honestly it's not bad at all.

They should put some kind of cooling cream on the area(s) after to reduce redness or temporary bumps. no scarring or anything at all.

It's a pricey treatment, but honestly it's THE best investment you could make.

This place does other stuff like permanent makeup, botox, and peels. For one treatment on the underarms its $75. Does this sound right or fishy? Also is there any risk of permanent skin discoloration in the area you have lasered? What about scaring? And if it does scar, how big?

It's more comfortable, looks better, and gives a little more sensitivity during sex. As for bushy becoming trendy we'll cross that bridge when we get there - I really don't think that this is caused by trends it's more like girls share with each other and some girls may be inspired to try this if they haven't but overall we're not shaving our crotches because everyone's doing it, we're doing it cuz it's what we want for out crotches.

So you won't get "carpet" fibers between your teeth when you're workin down there. Personally, I prefer things a little more natural. Trimmed is nice but not bald please.

I think a lot of guys don't like hair down there or at least not a lot that's why I shave. Usually when you get laser hair removal done, it is not the whole pubic region, so there is still hair. I've trimmed since WAY before it was trendy, I just like the look and feel better. Sometimes I shave all the way, sometimes just keep it trim. But I don't think I'll ever let it get "bushy". I prefer men to at least be trimmed too... in this society it's a basic hygeine issue.

Laser Hair Removal is painful and a pain. I would only get it for areas that really need permanent removal. Some of the bikini area should be done - the stray areas that will always show when you are wearing a swimsuit, etc. But the rest leave and deal with it by shaving or waxing. You never know when you want to change your mind...Don't do anything drastic that is going to be permanent.

I like the results of waxing because it doesn't leave any patchy spots. And I like to tan, which you can't do with laser hair removal. But with waxing, you can't shave in between, because you have to let it grow a bit. With laser, I'll have to wait a year for good results, and it's not really guaranteed anyway. But with laser, the results could be permanent. Obviously laser is much more expensive, but if results are permanent, then it might be worth it. But if they're not, I'd be upset.

Anyway have experiences they can share that will help me make a decision.

Laser hair removal works extremely well on the bikini area and you would probably need 4-6 Tx. You can actually tan just not 2 weeks before a treatment. I had the laser treatment and it was permanent and I am very happy. The attached site has more info.

Well, laser is tricky, you can never say it will get rid of the hair 100% because theres a lot of factors that are involved like your hair type and how it reacts to certain lasers and the different lasers they use.

I used to have the same problem with waxing but I bought this thing called an epilator and it looks like an electric razor but it uses a row of tweezers to get rid of hair from the root, so its like waxing but without the mess and you can use it on even stubble.

I usually wax, and then when the hairs start to grow in I will epilate them and that gets the job done.
